SOLAR & BATTERY MAINTENANCE

Solar Panel & Battery Maintenance

Already have solar but no one looking after it? We service, repair and optimise existing systems, whoever installed them. Independent, MCS-certified, and honest about what your system actually needs.

Keep Your System Working at Its Best

Solar panels are famously low-maintenance, but “low” isn’t “none.” Over the years, output can quietly drop, an inverter can fault, monitoring can stop reporting, or a system can simply have been set up poorly in the first place. The frustrating part is that many homeowners never notice, because nothing obviously breaks. The panels just earn you less than they should.

A proper service checks that everything is performing as it ought to: panel output, inverter health, wiring and connections, mounting and seals, and that your monitoring is actually telling you the truth. We’ll flag anything that’s underperforming and tell you plainly whether it’s worth fixing, rather than selling you work you don’t need.

Inherited a System, or Lost Your Installer?

A lot of the calls we get are from homeowners whose original installer has gone quiet, gone bust, or simply never offered aftercare, and from people who’ve bought a house with panels already on the roof and no idea who fitted them or how they’re performing.

We’re happy to take these systems on. Because we’re manufacturer-independent, it doesn’t matter what brand of panel, inverter or battery you have. We’ll inspect it, get it reporting properly, sort out any faults, and give you a straight assessment of its condition and what, if anything, it needs. From there you can have us service it as a one-off or set up an ongoing maintenance plan, whichever suits you.

What This Means For You
WHY DOES INDEPENDENCE MATTER?

Most Installers Are Tied. We Aren't.

The solar industry has a quiet problem: many installers sign exclusive deals with one panel or battery brand. They sell what they’re contracted to sell. not what’s right for your roof.

We deliberately stayed independent. so when we recommend a panel; an inverter or a battery. it’s because it’s the right call for you.

Common Questions Homeowners Ask

No jargon. No sales-speak. Just the things people actually want to know.

How often should solar panels be serviced?

There's no legal requirement to service a domestic solar system, but most benefit from a check every few years, and sooner if you've noticed output dropping or your monitoring has gone quiet. A periodic inspection catches small faults, such as a tripped isolator or an ageing inverter, before they start costing you generation. We'll tell you honestly how often yours realistically needs looking at, rather than tying you into work you don't need.

Do solar panels need cleaning?

Usually the rain does most of the work. Panels on a reasonable pitch tend to keep themselves clean, but those on low-pitch roofs, in shaded spots, or in areas prone to pollen, moss or lichen can lose output to a build-up of dirt. We'll assess whether yours would genuinely benefit from a clean and tell you straight if they wouldn't, rather than selling it as a routine extra.

My output has dropped. What could be wrong?

A drop in generation usually comes down to one of a few things: an inverter fault, a tripped or failing isolator, shading that has grown over time, dirt on the panels, or a fault at panel level. A service works through each of these to pinpoint the cause. Once we know what's going on, we'll explain it in plain terms and tell you whether it's worth repairing.

Can you service a system another company installed?

Yes. We're manufacturer-independent, so it doesn't matter what brand of panel, inverter or battery you have, or who originally fitted it. We're happy to inspect, service and repair systems installed by other companies, including ones that have since closed down, and to take over the aftercare your original installer may never have offered.

My installer has gone out of business. What now?

You're not stuck. It's one of the most common reasons people call us. We can inspect the system, get it reporting properly again, sort out any faults, and take on its ongoing servicing. In many cases the manufacturer warranties on the hardware itself still stand even though the installer has gone, and we'll help you make the most of them.

Is it worth repairing an old system or replacing it?

It depends on the fault and the age of the equipment, and we'll give you a straight answer either way. Very often a repair, such as replacing a failed inverter, is far cheaper than a whole new system and brings performance back to where it should be. Occasionally replacement genuinely is the better long-term value, and if that's the case we'll say so, with the numbers to back it up.
